about
let stories sing
ASMODIA is a musician and storyteller whose music blends folk, pop, and cinematic sounds into atmosphere-driven, immersive experiences. Often described by listeners and collaborators as cinematic, emotional, and evocative, her songs combine ethereal vocals, rich harmonies, and layered production to create vivid sonic landscapes. She has performed live with choirs, bands, and experimental ensembles, and her work invites audiences on journeys through magical realms, dark forests, and sweeping emotional adventures. Her music focuses on mood and storytelling, crafting each track to feel like a scene from a larger narrative.
Alongside her music, ASMODIA is an up-and-coming author working on a dark fantasy romance novel that explores themes of love, loss, loyalty, and adventure in a world of magic, political intrigue, and personal struggle. Her writing often reflects the themes and moods of her songs, creating a seamless connection between her literary and musical worlds. By combining music and literature, ASMODIA offers a multi-dimensional universe where every track and story is part of the same immersive world, allowing audiences to experience her storytelling across sound and page.
early years
ASMODIA began her musical journey at the age of nine, playing flute with Muziekvereniging Noordenveld (Showband). At twelve, she started learning guitar. Inspired by the musical Wicked, she discovered her love for singing and later began taking vocal lessons. She had dabbled in writing her own music before, but it wasn’t until the COVID-19 pandemic that she began writing regularly, exploring her voice and developing her distinctive style.
Other Projects
Alongside her solo work, ASMODIA has been involved in a variety of musical projects. She performs with a Tina Turner tribute band, Typical (Fe)Male, where she sings backing vocals, and recently joined Timedrifters, a blues and soul band, as a backing vocalist. She is also an active member of a choir, performing in various concerts and live events, bringing her vocal and musical versatility to every project.
Education
ASMODIA first studied Music Teaching Assistance (onderwijsassistente muziek) at ROC Friese Poort, where she gained practical experience in music education and performance. She is now completing her degree in Popular Culture at the Academy for Popular Culture in Leeuwarden, focusing on the intersections of music, storytelling, and live performance. Her studies have allowed her to combine creative theory with hands-on experience, shaping her approach to immersive musical storytelling.
